Woodford Reserve Rye pays homage to history with a pre-Prohibition style mash bill of 53% rye. The nose is distinctly spicy with notes of rye, black pepper, cedar and cassia bark, softened by marzipan and hints of pear, apple and almond. An innovative twice-barreled bourbon, uniquely matured in two charred oak barrels to create its rich, layered character. After initial maturation, the bourbon is transferred to a second barrel that has been deeply toasted and lightly charred, drawing out additional soft, sweet oak notes.
