This 12YO Aberlour has been matured in two cask types, traditional oak and Sherry oak casks. Especially selected every year, they are filled with whisky and quietly aged for a minimum of twelve years; then the casks are married together. Traditional oak casks encourage the subtle character of Aberlour to develop, whilst Sherry oak casks add hints of ruby gold colour and a deep and rich flavour to the whisky. Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance. A burst of intense smoky fruit escapes into the atmosphere - peat infused with zesty lemon and lime, wrapped in waxy dark chocolate. Bold menthol and black pepper slice through the sweet smoke followed by tarry ropes and graphite. Savour the aroma of smoked fish and crispy bacon alongside green bell peppers, baked pineapple and pear juice. Add water and an oceanic minerality brings a breath of cool, briny seaspray. Waxed lemon and lime follows with coal tar soap, beeswax and herby pine woodlands. Toasted vanilla and sizzling cinnamon simmer with warm hazelnut and almond toffee.

Every last drop of this spectacular Scotch is triple distilled then matured for over twelve years. This Lowland single malt has the tempting aroma of crème brulee to the nose with a burst of citrus and then the signature nuttiness and green leafiness you would expect from Auchentoshan. On the palate a smooth whisky taste with sweet notes along with hints of tangerine and lime. The finish is gingery and slightly dry with a pleasant, lingering nuttiness.

Cardhu, the Queen of Speyside malts, has a generous spirit that is as well matched to that of hard-working founder, Helen Cumming, as it is to that of the busy bees that pollinate the hillside heather through the long days of summer. Clean, elegant and perfectly poised, this Cardhu was made in small batches and matured in refill casks, as well as new and ex-bourbon American oak, drawing out tones of floral sweetness and spicy intensity in a playful exchange between wood and whisky. Notes of fresh orchard pear, green apple, grape and pineapple join a trace of lemon peel on the nose, with a gentle mossy base. The texture is creamy- smooth, the taste sweet then juicy, with a buttery richness. Of a good length, the finish is spicy, with lingering warmth.

Along with the mesmerising solo wildcat on the bottle, they inspired Clynelish's Malt Master to create a whisky to express all the sweet and soulful richness of classic American jazz. Exclusively aged in ex-bourbon American Oak, this expression sings with notes of rich caramel and vanilla spice. A perfect introduction to Fettercairn - After years of maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, this 12YO is the colour of sunlight and amber honey. On the nose notes of vanilla and pear, with soft spices. The palate reveals refreshing nectarine and tropical fruit flavours, finishing with sultanas, roasted coffee and black toffee.

In the glass, a distinctive fresh and fruity nose with a hint of pear followed by a palate of butterscotch, cream, malt and a subtle oak.
